DULUTH, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s hockey team played their final game before break Friday night and fell to St. Scholastica by a score of 4-1. With the loss the Gusties fall to 5-6 overall while the Saints improve to 5-6-1.

Neither team was able to get much going early in the first period, but the Saints would find the back of the net at the 12:58 mark to take a 1-0 lead.

St. Scholastica would take control of the game midway through the second period, scoring goals at the 9:19 mark and the 11:07 to take a 3-0 lead. The Saints would add another goal 16:09 into the period to add a four-goal lead.

Three Gustavus players would notch their first collegiate points, as Hunter Johnson (Fy., Nicollet) notched his first collegiate goal 9:56 into the frame, assisted by Peter Colby (Fy., Edina) and Benji Mickel (Fy., Durango, Colo.).
