Turnovers proved to be the difference in a 27-17 loss for the Gustavus football team at No. 16 Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday. The Gusties led 14-10 at halftime, but the Cobbers were able to turn an interception and a fumble recovery into 14 points, while holding the visitors to a field goal in the final 30 minutes to secure the victory. Gustavus drops to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while Concordia remains unbeaten at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the league.

An early 14-0 lead in the first quarter set the tone for the Gustavus football team’s 23-3 victory over St. Olaf on Saturday. The Gusties outgained the Oles 407-209 in total yards, while forcing the home team to punt seven times and commit three turnovers. Gustavus snaps a four-game skid in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, improving to 4-4 overall and 2-4 in the league, while the Oles fall to 2-6 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

The Gustavus and Hamline football teams battled to the bitter end Saturday afternoon at Klas Field, but a touchdown late in the fourth quarter by the host Pipers proved to be the difference in a 42-40 loss for the Gusties. The defeat snaps a 10-game winning streak against the Pipers and marked the first time since 1975 Gustavus lost a game after scoring at least 40 points. Gustavus moves to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Pipers remain unbeaten at 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Second Half Surge Propels Football To 35-13 Win Over Augsburg

Trailing 13-0 at halftime with only 79 total yards of offense, the Gustavus football team was in need of a spark. The momentum shifted in the home team’s favor on the first drive of the second half with a touchdown, which was followed by four more drives finishing in the endzone, resulting in a 35-13 win over Augsburg on Saturday afternoon. The victory propels the Gusties to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Auggies drop to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the league.
