Brandt and Kratz Named MIAC Women’s Golf All-Conference

The MIAC released their 2018-19 women's golf All-Conference team and Gustavus's Ellie Brandt (Sr., Wayzata, Minn.) and Emily Kratz (Fy., Edina, Minn.) each garnered their first All-Conference honor.

Pedersen Wins MIAC Men’s Golf Top Honors

Jacob Pedersen (Fy., Minnetonka, Minn.) was named the MIAC men's golf Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year as voted on my the MIAC coaches, while Ben Hauge (Jr., Ramsey, Minn.) and Max Ullan (So., Blaine, Minn.) were both named All-Conference.

Track & Field Set for MIAC Outdoor Championships This Weekend

The Gustavus men’s and women’s track & field teams are set to compete at the MIAC Outdoor Championships on Friday and Saturday at the University of St. Thomas. The two-day event begins at 2 p.m. Friday with final field events and preliminary track events. Saturday’s events begin at 2 p.m. as well with both days wrapping up competition at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Stockwell Pitches Complete Game in 5-2 Playoff Win Over Saint Mary’s

Adam Stockwell (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) tossed a complete game gem in a 5-2 Gustavus win over Saint Mary’s in the opening matchup of the 2019 MIAC Baseball Championships at CHS Field. The Gusties, now 24-11, will face the winner of Saint John’s and St. Olaf at 3 p.m. Friday for a chance to go to the title game.

Baseball Set to Begin MIAC Playoffs Thursday

The Gustavus baseball team is set to begin MIAC playoffs Thursday at CHS Field. The top-seeded Gusties (23-11) take on No. 4 seed Saint Mary’s (20-16) at 3 p.m. The second game of the day features No. 2 Saint John’s vs. No. 3 St. Olaf at 6:30 p.m.

Six Gusties Named Women’s Tennis All-Conference

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its women’s tennis postseason awards Wednesday and six Gusties were recognized as All-Conference members. Lilly Hartman (Sr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa), Bri Hartmann (Sr., Owatonna, Minn.), Simona Potockova (Fy., Nova' Dubnica, Slovakia), Anna Stutz (Fy., Dellwood, Minn.), and Ginger Valentine (So., Delano, Minn.) were each named to the All-Conference singles team, while Hannah Borgh (So., Bettendorf, Iowa), B. Hartman, L. Hartmman, Potockova, and Valentine were the All-Conference doubles team honorees.

Men’s Tennis Garners Four All-Conference Honors

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men’s tennis postseason awards Wednesday and four Gusties were recognized as All-Conference members. Chase Johnson (Sr., Golden Valley, Minn.), Michael O’Neil (Jr., Edina, Minn.), and Patrick Whaling (Sr., Manakin Sabot, Va.) were named to the All-MIAC Singles Team, while Nick Aney (Fy., Rochester, Minn.), Johnson, and Whaling earned All-MIAC Doubles Team honors.

Hensch Earns Third Consecutive MIAC Field Athlete of the Week

Michael Hensch (Sr., North Branch, Minn.) once again starred for the Gustavus men's track and field team at the MSU-Mankato Twilight. Hensch started his day with a personal best in the hammer throw, hurling a school record of 200-6 for a second-place finish. For his performance, Hensch was named MIAC Field Athlete of the Week for the third consecutive time. 

Hauge Named MIAC Men’s Golfer of the Week

Ben Hauge (Jr., Ramsey, Minn.) was instrumental in the Gustavus men's golf team's day two comeback at the Bobby Krig Invite last weekend. After shooting a 78 in the opening round, Hauge posted a 69 on day two to help propel the Gusties to their first tournament victory of the season. For his performance, Hauge has been named MIAC Men's Golfer of the Week. 

Men’s Tennis Headed to Chicago for NCAA Regional Round

The NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Committee has selected the 43 teams that will compete in the 2019 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championships and Gustavus is headed to the University of Chicago on Saturday and Sunday to play in a six-team regional.
