Women’s Basketball Hosts Augsburg Wednesday Night

The Gustavus women’s basketball team is set to take on Augsburg at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at Gus Young Court. The Gusties enter the contest 12-9 overall and 9-5 in the MIAC, while the Auggies are 18-3 overall and 13-1 in the league.

Johnson Named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Chase Johnson (Sr., Golden Valley, Minn.) began the Gustavus men’s tennis team’s dual match season with a singles victory against a Division I opponent. Playing at No. 2 singles, Johnson dropped the first set, 6-1, before fighting back to win consecutive breakers 7-6, 7-6 against North Dakota.

Tanner Sonnek Named MIAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has named Tanner Sonnek (Sr., North Mankato, Minn.) its Men’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Gustie Challenge last Friday and Saturday.

Larson, Malo Named January Student-Athletes of the Month

Men's swimmer Nolan Larson (So., West Des Moines, Iowa) and all-around gymnast Amanda Malo (Sr., Greenwood, Minn.) have been selected as the Gustavus Adolphus College January Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Month, presented by Thrivent Financial and voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department.

The Gustavus gymnastics team competed against Centenary on Sunday and lost the dual match 190.375-182.725.

Track & Field Shows Improvement at Ted Nelson Classic

The Gustavus men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the Ted Nelson Classic on Saturday, hosted by MSU-Mankato. The women took ninth out of 14 teams with a score of 15, while the men placed 11th out of 14 with 16 points.

Men’s Tennis Starts Dual Match Season With a Split

The Gustavus men’s tennis team kicked off its 2019 dual match season with a win and a loss Saturday. The Gusties lost 5-2 at Division I North Dakato before a split squad defeated Concordia 8-1 to begin MIAC play.
