Swim and Dive Hosts Hamline Friday Night, Travels to Saint John’s Saturday Posted on January 25th, 2019 by

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus swim and dive team will host Hamline on Friday evening for a 5 p.m meet before they travel to Saint John’s for a 1 p.m. meet Saturday. The diving events for Saturday’s meet versus Saint John’s will be in Saint Peter at the Vic Gustafson Pool starting at 10 a.m.

Senior Day: As is tradition at Gustavus, one of the final home meets of the season is designated as Senior Day and a special tribute is made to the individuals who have dedicated themselves to Gustavus swimming and diving the past four years. This year, the Athletics Department, Head Coach Jon Carlson, parents, and fans salute the 22 student-athletes who have represented the swim and dive program with pride and class throughout their collegiate careers. Student-athletes honored today include Jonathan Bovee (Farmington, Minn.), Nicholas Brazel (Bloomington, Minn.), Benjamin DeSutter (Maple Plain, Minn.), Riley Fairbanks (Hutchinson, Minn.), Erik Knutson (St. Paul, Minn.), Seamus McDonald (St. Paul, Minn.), Scott Nimke (Rochester, Minn.), Andrew Peters (Montevideo, Minn.), Carson Scholberg (Apple Valley, Minn.), Thomas Schuman (Litchfield, Minn.), Tanner Sonnek (North Mankato, Minn.), Caleb Torvik (Savage, Minn.), Francis Zobitz (White Bear Lake, Minn.), Grace Carlson (St. Peter, Minn.), Cassidy Coats (Hopkins, Minn.), Sydney Hallmark (Cedarburg, Wis.), Sarah Link (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.), Rachel Lund (Fresno, Calif), Perry McGhee (Sr., Charleston, W. Va.,), Haley Pesik (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.), Veronica Vasina (Arvada, Colo.), and Maggie Webster (Apple Valley, Minn.).

In their last meet, both the Gustie men and women traveled to Stevens Point, Wis. for the Point Invite and took home a second place.
