The Gusties kept the scoring going in the first period and took a 2-0 lead over the Auggies 16:02 into the game when Lilia Scheid (Fy., Stillwater, Minn.) notched her sixth goal of the season with an assist going to Erin Moes (Sr., Hasting, Minn.).

The game then went scoreless for over 40 minutes until late in the third period. With their goalie pulled and an extra attacker on the ice, the Auggies found the back of the net with just 1:19 remaining in the game to make it a one score contest. Augsburg won the ensuing face-off, dumped the puck into the Gustavus zone and pulled their goalie once again. Just 37 seconds after their first extra attacker goal, the Auggies evened the game up at 2-2 with another.

The game went into overtime where Augsburg outshot the Gusties 4-1 but neither team could muster a goal. In the contest the Auggies held the advantage in the shot category by a tally of 25-20. Amanda DiNella (Sr., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) started in net for the Gusties and made 23 saves while allowing the two goals.

The Gusties will next be in action on Friday when they host Saint Mary’s for a 7 p.m. contest.
