MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. – The Gusties finished the final day of the Pioneer Creek in second place with a total score of 893. The Gusties fell by two strokes to St. Thomas who shot a 290 in the third round to secure the victory.

On todays results, Head Coach Scott Moe said, “Today was a lot of golf on a tough golf course. We showed up and executed our plan well this morning posting a good number and we had a slight lead following the second round.  The third round we came out and missed a number of chances and left a few shots out on the course.”

Jacob Pedersen (Fy., Minnetonka, Minn.) once again impressed as he finished first out of all division three competitors at the Invitational, shooting a 215 (-1) in the three rounds. Ben Hauge (Jr., Ramsey, Minn.) had a solid performance on the tournament finishing tied for 27th with a 221 (+5). Max Ullan (So., Blaine, Minn.), Thomas Carlson (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.), and Joe Foley (Jr., East Gull Lake, Minn.) rounded out the Gustavus top five with scores of 228, 229, and 232 respectively.

“We are off next weekend as we prepare to host the Twin Cities Classic the following weekend,” said Coach Moe.

The Gusties will host the Twin Cities Classic in Elk River, Ramsey, and Edina, Minn., starting on September 22.
