SARTELL, Minn. – The Gustie women’s golf team competed in day two of the CSB Invite and once again put together a nice round with a score of 319. Carleton came out on top posting another score below 300 to win the event.
The Gusties got a really strong performance out of first-year Emily Kratz (Fy., Edina, Minn.) as she posted a 76. After two rounds Morgan Bleyhl (Jr., Elk River, Minn.) posted the lowest total score for the Gusties as she shot a 79 today which put her at 10 over for the meet. Erin Ericson (Fy., Onalaska, Wis.), Ellie Brandt (Sr., Wayzata, Minn.) and Sydney Regalado (Fy., Rosemount, Minn.) came in with totals of 81, 83, and 84 respectively to round out the Gustie scores. Kennedy Sommerfeld (Sr., Litchfield, Minn.) played well again putting up a score of 85.
When asked about the teams play today, head coach Scott Moe said, “We didn’t hit the ball as crisp as we did yesterday but again managed to stay away from the big numbers. It was a really great weekend for our freshman, and Morgan was in the 70’s both days as well so that was good to see.”
The Gusties will continue play next weekend at the Wartburg Invite in Waverly, Iowa.
“This weekend was an exciting way to start our fall season and I’m looking forward to our next opportunity at Wartburg next weekend,” coach Moe said.
