BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Athlete of the Week award winner for women’s golf on Tuesday and Gustavus’s McKenzie Swenson (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.) was honored with the distinction.
Swenson led the Gusties to a fifth place finish out of 19 teams en route to earning her third career MIAC weekly accolade, firing scores of 78-75–153 over the weekend to take second place at the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. Swenson’s second round featured 13 pars and a birdie as she shot the low-round of the day. As a team, Gustavus turned in a score of 320-327–647.
The Black and Gold return to action this weekend, heading to Waverly, Iowa to take part in the Wartburg College Spring Invitational.
