ST. PETER, Minn. – With two upcoming meets at Saint John’s University and Southwest Minnesota State University being cancelled, the Gustavus men’s and women’s track & field teams added a meet at Saint Mary’s University and are set to compete in the Dingels/Brueggen Open during the outdoor opener on Thursday.
Field events are scheduled to begin at noon, followed by track events at 12:30 from the SMU Outdoor Athletic Complex. Other schools slated to participate among the Gusties include host Saint Mary’s, Bethany Lutheran College, Upper Iowa University, Viterbo University, and Winona State University.

Additionally, two members from the Gustie men’s squad will compete in the Drury Hotels Joey Haines Invite at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Friday and Saturday. Michael Hensch (Jr., North Branch, Minn.) will compete in the hammer throw Friday afternoon prior to the shot put and javelin throws on Saturday. Bobby Verchota (Jr., Hastings, Minn.) will compete in the 400-meter dash on Saturday.
