ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams are set to host Saint John’s and Saint Benedict at 1 p.m. Saturday at Vic Gustafson Pool.
Both the Gustie men and women are coming off second place finishes at the UW-Stevens Point Invite last weekend. The men tallied 942 points behind host UW-Stevens Point’s 1,386, while the women accumulated 866 points behind Division II Minnesota State, Mankato’s 1,352.5.
Senior Day: As is tradition at Gustavus, one of the final home meets of the season is designated as Senior Day and a special tribute is made to the individuals who have dedicated themselves to Gustavus swimming and diving the past four years. This year, the Athletics Department, Head Coach Jon Carlson, parents, and fans salute the seven student-athletes who have represented the swim and dive program with pride and class throughout their collegiate careers. Student-athletes honored today include Will Bragg (Eagan, Minn.), Anders Wallock (Wheaton, Minn.), Megan Boonstra (Oakdale, Minn.), Kennedy Holwerda (Willmar, Minn.), Lisa Jerden (Tucson, Ariz.), Leah Johnson (Minnetonka, Minn.), and Kate Reilly (Hastings, Minn.).
The MIAC Championships are three weeks away and a number of Gusties rank among the top three on the conference performance list.
