ST. PETER, Minn. – After nearly two weeks off, the No. 7-ranked Gustavus women’s hockey team is set to compete against Bethel in a home and home series this weekend. Friday’s game in Blaine starts at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s game in St. Peter begins at 2 p.m. The Gusties enter the weekend with a 4-1-1 overall record and 3-1 mark in the MIAC, while the Royals are 3-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the league.

GUSTAVUS GAME NOTES

The Series: Tonight’s game marks the 42nd all-time meeting between Gustavus and Bethel in women’s hockey with the Gusties leading the series 35-5-1. The Gusties swept Bethel last season with a 4-2 victory at Don Roberts Ice Rink prior to a 3-0 win in Blaine, Minn. The Gusties scored three unanswered goals Friday after allowing the first tally, led by two goals from Diana Draayer. Gustavus outshot Bethel by a margin of 38-16 and goaltender Amanda DiNella recorded 14 saves. On Saturday, after a scoreless first period, the Gusties tallied the eventual game-winning goal early into the second as Kaitlyn Klein scored her team-leading 10th of the season at the 1:25 minute mark with help from Laine Fischer.
