Michael Hensch To Represent Men’s Track & Field At NCAA Outdoor Championships Posted on May 20th, 2017 by

ST. PETER, Minn. – Gustavus men’s track and field field thrower Michael Hensch (So., North Branch, Minn.) has been selected to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 25-27 in Geneva, Ohio, competing in the javelin throw.

Coming off a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outstanding Field Athlete honor, Hensch is seeded eighth in the javelin event.

At the MIAC Outdoor Championships, Hensch led the Gusties to a third place team finish after recording a pair of great performances in the hammer and javelin throws. Hensch won the hammer throw with a personal-best and national top-20 heave of 182-8 on Friday prior to setting a Gustavus record and career-best javelin throw of 206-08, finishing over 20 feet ahead of the runner-up and 25 feet further then his previous personal best throw.
