ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s track and field team tallied 23.50 points to finish 11th at the 2017 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Hamline University.
The University of St. Thomas finished in first place with 146.75 points.
“All in all, I thought it was a good day,” said Head Coach Dale Bahr. “I definitely didn’t think it was a lack of effort. I know our ladies went out and competed hard, and that is what matters.”
Five Gusties scored points with top-eight finishes.
Katie Keelin (Fy., Burnsville, Minn.) led Gustavus with an All-Conference finish in the hammer throw. Keelin was the runner-up with a toss of 158-2.
Three Gusties in Alex Anderson (Fy., Sioux Falls, S.D.), McKayla Stowell (So., Le Sueur, Minn.), and Gabriela Passmore (Fy,. Mapleton, Minn.) claimed seventh place finishes. Anderson finished seventh in the high jump with a leap of 5-0.25, Stowell posted a 100-meter dash time of 12.65, while Passmore ran the 5,000-meter run in 19:03.25.
In addition, Bailey Van Den Heuvel (So., Mondovi, Wis.) posted an eighth place hammer throw with a toss of 142-9.
