ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s golf teams are competing out of state this weekend during the College’s spring break. The No. 25-ranked men’s squad is participating in the 45th Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championship at Paradise Point Golf Course in Camp Lejeune, N.C., while the women are competing in a dual against Flagler College at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. The men’s meet is a three-day, three-round event, while the women are competing in one round Friday.

The Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championship boasts an impressive field that includes No. 1 Methodist University, No. 2 Oglethorpe University, (RV) Greensboro College, (RV) Hampden-Sydney College, and (RV) Skidmore College. Other institutions competing include The Apprentice School, Averett University, Bridgewater College, Camp Lejeune, Cape Fear Community College, Chowan University, Fayetteville State University, Husson University, Lynchburg College, Marymount University, Miles College, North Carolina Wesleyan College, Patrick Henry Community College, Randolph-Macon College, Roanoke College, Sandhills Community College, Shenandoah University, Stevenson University, Surry Community College, Talladega College, Virginia Wesleyan College, and the University of the South.

Oglethorpe has won the past three Intercollegiate Golf Championships.
