Fischer, Swanson Set To Compete At NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships This Weekend Posted on March 9th, 2016 by

ST. PETER, Minn. – Gustavus track & field throwing specialists Sarah Swanson (Sr., Fairbanks, Alaska) and Sam Fischer (Sr., Sauk Centre, Minn.) have qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, which takes place Friday and Saturday at Grinnell College’s Bear Athletic Center in Grinnell, Iowa. Swanson will compete in the shot put after winning the MIAC title last week, while Fischer will compete in the weight throw after claiming the conference crown as well.

Fischer’s event starts at 10 a.m. Friday and he enters as the No. 12 seed with a season-high throw of 17.90 meters, set at the Macalester Kilt Classic on Feb. 26.

Swanson’s event starts at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and she enters as the No. 12 seed as well with a season-high toss of 13.74 meters, also set at the Kilt Classic.
