Men’s Basketball To Take on Bethel Tonight

The Gustavus men’s basketball team is back to the friendly confines of Gus Young Court at 7 p.m. Wednesday for game two of the season series against Bethel University. The Royals won game one of the season series 82-73 on Dec. 9. The Gusties enter the matchup with a 7-10 overall record and 4-8 mark in the MIAC, while the Royals are 12-4 overall and 7-4 in the league. Gustavus is trying to continue a two-game winning streak, while Bethel has won two of their last three games.

Kate Reilly Earns MIAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete Of The Week Honors

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's swimming and diving team rose to the occasion at the Grinnell Invite, finishing second behind only Division I Nebraska-Omaha, defeating the rest of the Division II and III field. Sophomore standout Kate Reilly led the way with five first-place finishes - four individual and one relay - and she finished in the top three in all eight of her events. For her performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Reilly Tuesday with the MIAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete-of-the-Week award.

Women’s Basketball Heads To Bethel On Wednesday

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team takes on Bethel University Wednesday, Jan. 27 at Robertston Center Gym in Arden Hills, Minn. with tipoff set for 7 p.m. The Gusties enter the game with a 12-5 overall record and 7-3 mark in the conference, while the Royals are 10-7 overall and 6-4 in MIAC.

Alex Kopp Earns Second Consecutive WIAC Gymnastics Athlete Of The Week Honor

Gustavus Adolphus College gymnast Alex Kopp (Jr., Wayzata, Minn.) has earned WIAC Gymnastics Athlete of the Week honors for the second consecutive week, as she was named Specialist of the Week on Tuesday by the conference office. Kopp led Gustavus to its first victory since 2013 last Tuesday in a 180.775-180.2 dual victory over Winona State University.

Men’s Basketball Earns Season Sweep Over Saint Mary’s With 71-62 Win

In a game in which it never trailed, the Gustavus Adolphus College men's basketball team earned a 71-62 victory over Saint Mary's University on Monday evening at Saint Mary's Gym. The Gusties scored the game's opening basket and saw the Cardinals tie the game twice, but did enough to put Saint Mary's away at the game's end. With the win, Gustavus improves to 7-10 overall and 4-8 in the MIAC, while Saint Mary's falls to 6-10 and 4-8 in the conference.

Deja Vu For Men’s Hockey In Shootout Loss To St. Olaf

It was déjà vu for the Gustavus men’s hockey team as it watched a third period lead fade away, forcing an overtime with St. Olaf on Saturday night and ending with another shootout loss. The 3-3 tie with St. Olaf moves the Gusties to 3-10-4 overall and 2-4-2 in the MIAC, along with one point in the league standings.

Men’s Swimming & Diving Takes Second Of Eight At Grinnell Invite

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team took second place out of eight teams at the Grinnell Invitational on Saturday. The Gusties posted a team score of 790.5, while host Grinnell took first at 1122 and Nebraska Wesleyan took third at 764.

Women’s Hockey Picks Up Sweep, Defeats St. Olaf 5-0

After earning a narrow come-from-behind victory on Friday evening in St. Peter, the Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team used its momentum to pick up a sweep against St. Olaf on Saturday night at Northfield Ice Arena, winning in 5-0 fashion. With the win, the Gusties move to 6-7-4 overall and 5-2-3 in the MIAC, while the Oles fall to 1-15-1 overall and 0-9-1 in the conference.

Women’s Swimming & Diving Takes Second At Grinnell Invite

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's swimming and diving team remained in second place with 912 points on the final day of the 2016 Grinnell College Invitational held over the weekend at the Grinnell Natatorium in the Charles Benson Bear Recreation and Athletic Center. Host Grinnell finished in third with 764 points, while the University of Nebraska-Omaha was the meet champion with 1192.5.
