Alex Kopp has earned WIAC Gymnastics Athlete of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.
MADISON, Wis. – Gustavus Adolphus College gymnast Alex Kopp (Jr., Wayzata, Minn.) has earned WIAC Gymnastics Athlete of the Week honors for the second consecutive week, as she was named Specialist of the Week on Tuesday by the conference office. Kopp led Gustavus to its first victory since 2013 last Tuesday in a 180.775-180.2 dual victory over Winona State University.
Kopp was victorious in three events in Tuesday’s meet against the Warriors. She won vault and floor exercise outright with scores of 9.550 and 9.475, respectively. The Wayzata product also tied for first on balance beam with a score of 9.475. Her three event titles led the way for the Gusties as they notched the program’s highest score since 2004.
Kopp and the Gusties are back in action this Friday when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Stout for a 6 p.m. dual meet.
