Sartell, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team placed third out of 11 teams at the College of Saint Benedict Invite, played Saturday and Sunday at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course.

The Gusties posted scores of 324-318-642 (+66). The University of St. Thomas won the Invite with scores of 321-304-625 (+49), while Carleton College took second with scores of 310-316-626 (+50).

“The women had a much more consistent day today,” Head Coach Scott Moe said about the team’s second round. “Nice to see Ellie [Brandt] play that well as a freshman in her first tournament. We still made a few mistakes coming down the stretch, which cost us some shots. Those mistakes will need to be cleaned up as we move on throughout our fall season. A lot of positives came out of this weekend as we look forward to next weekend at Eau Claire.”

T9. Ellie Brandt, 80-78-158 (+14)

12. Emilie Anderson, 81-78-159 (+15)

T20. Mae Meierhenry, 84-81-165 (+21)

T28. Jessica Nelson, 89-81-170 (+26)

The Gusties travel to Eau Claire, Wis. on Sept. 13-14 to participate in the Eau Claire Invitational.
