Cash, Nelson, Swenson Earn WGCA All-America Scholar Honor

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced today and three Gustavus women’s golfers are recognized with the honor – Kristen Cash (So., Roseville, Minn.), McKenzie Swenson (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.), and Jessica Nelson (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.). The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Women’s Golf Concludes Season With Fourth Place Finish At Carleton Invite

The Gustavus women's golf team wrapped up its season Sunday with a fourth place finish at the Carleton Invitational, played at the Northfield Golf Club. The Gusties shot a two-round total of 335-328-663. Host Carleton won the event with a score of 615. 

Women’s Golf Takes Fifth At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women’s golf team concluded its fall season on a blistering cold Monday, taking fifth place at the MIAC Championships held at Pebble Creek Golf Club. The Gusties finished with a score of 330-316-329-975, which was 51 strokes behind the winner Carleton at 924. Saint Benedict took second at 943 and St. Thomas took third at 952. Ziyi Wang held the lead throughout the tournament to claim medalist honors with a total of 224.  

Women’s Golf Ready For MIAC Championships This Weekend

The Gustavus women’s golf team is set to compete in the MIAC Championships this weekend, hosted at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minn. Saturday through Monday. The 54-hole tournament features all 11 MIAC teams with the winner earning the league’s automatic qualifier into the NCAA Championships, which takes place May 8-11, 2018 at Howey-in-Hills, Fla.

Women’s Golf Earns Silver At College City Challenge

In its final tuneup before the MIAC Championships, the Gustavus women’s golf team took second place out of 12 teams at the College City Challenge, hosted by Carleton College at Bellwood Oaks Golf Club. The Gusties fired a 313-332-645, which was 25 strokes behind the winner Carleton. St. Catherine took third with a 651 in a field with nine MIAC schools and Wartburg.

Women’s Golf Takes Eighth In Highly Competitive NCAA Preview

The Gustavus women’s golf team concluded play at the NCAA Division III Preview on Monday, taking eighth place out 14 teams in a nationally ranked field. The Gusties posted a 325-330-655, which was 49 strokes behind the winner New York University. Carnegie Mellon took second with a 639 and Washington and Lee placed third with a 641.

Women’s Golf Sits In Fourth Place After Day One At NCAA Preview

Competing against some of the best teams in the country, the Gustavus women’s golf team sits in a tie for fourth place after round one at the NCAA Division III Preview, which is being played at Mission Inn Resort. The Gusties fired a first round 325, which is 27 strokes behind the leader New York University. Carnegie Mellon is in second place at 322 and Washington and Lee is in third at 323.

Women’s Golf Holds 16-Stroke Lead After First Round At UW-Eau Claire

The Gustavus women’s golf team shot a first round 328 Sunday at the Georgianni Invite, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, which has the Gusties in first place by 16 strokes. Host UW-Eau Claire is in second after shooting a 344 and St. Norbert is in third at 368 within in the nine-team field.

Women’s Golf Takes Third At CSB Blazer Invite

The Gustavus women’s golf team took third place out of 13 teams Sunday at the CSB Blazer Invite, posting a 333-322-655. The Gusties shot the second best score in the second round, four strokes behind the winning team Carleton, which posted a 318-318-636. St. Catherine placed second with a 329-323-652.

2017 Golf Season Preview

The Gustavus men’s and women’s golf teams tee up the 2017 fall season today as the men compete in the Transylvania Invite in Lexington. Ky. and the women compete in the Saint Benedict Invitational in Sartell, Minn. Both meets are two-day events.
