St. Paul – A trio of Gustavus Adolphus distance runners competed in the Hamline University Women’s Twilight Meet held Wednesday night at the Klas Track and Field Complex.  Marit Sonnesyn (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.), Caitlin Fermoyle (Sr., Mendota Heights, Minn.), and Lauren Shurson (Jr., Chanhassen, Minn.) represented the Three Crowns in the 10,000-meter run where they finished back-to-back-to-back in second, third, and fourth place, respectively.  Sonnesyn crossed the finish line in 37:34.82, Fermoyle went 37:38.40, and Shurson rounded out the group with a 37:39.66. Each time was a personal best time for each runner. The three Gusties were beaten by only Minnesota-Duluth’s McKenzie Holt who won the race with a time of 37:28.98.

Sonnesyn, Fermoyle, Shurson and the rest of the Gustavus track and field team will be in action on Saturday, April 25 at the Drake Alternative Meet hosted at the Gustavus Track and Field Complex.  The meet is set to begin with the javelin at 9:30 a.m.
