Women’s Indoor Track & Field Finishes Ninth At MIAC Championships Posted on March 8th, 2015 by

Moorhead, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s indoor track and field team registered seven points on day two to finish ninth at the 2015 MIAC Championships with team score of 29.5.  The MIAC Championships were held at the Olson Forum on the campus of Concordia College over the weekend.

Day two was highlighted by the shot put performances of Sarah Swanson (Jr., Fairbanks, Alaska) and Hayley Solheim (Jr., Cookston, Minn.). Swanson threw the shot 41-feet 1.75-inches to finish sixth, while Solheim posted a distance of 40-feet 0.5-inches to take eighth.

Also scoring on day two was Katilin Bembenek (Fy., Prior Lake, Minn.) who placed eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.745.

The top three individuals in each event and the first-place relay team will automatically earn All-Conference honors, and the 4th-through-6th place finishers in each open event and 2nd-through-6th place relay teams will all be named All-Conference Honorable Mention. The top individual and Coach-of-the-Year awards will be voted on by the coaches and announced in the coming week.
