Men’s Tennis Picks Up Wins Over UW-Whitewater And St. Olaf Posted on March 8th, 2015 by

The Gustavus men's tennis team defeated UW-Whitewater and St. Olaf to extend is winning-streak to four matches on Saturday.

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s tennis team is beginning to gain momentum as it passes by the halfway point of a current 12-match homestand. With a pair of victories against UW-Whitewater 7-2 and St. Olaf College 9-0 on Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center, Gustavus improved its winning-streak to four matches and is now 7-5 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC.

The Gusties began the day with an important regional victory over UW-Whitewater, who entered the weekend ranked No. 22 nationally and seventh regionally . After taking two points in doubles play, Gustavus surged ahead with five of the six points in singles. Two of Gustavus’s points came as the result of three-set wins.

Gustavus concluded the day by sweeping St. Olaf in both doubles and singles.

The Black and Gold will be back in action on Saturday, March 14 when it takes on Hamline University at 10:00 a.m. in the Swanson Tennis Center.
