Track & Field Competes At Meet Of The UnSaintly Posted on May 5th, 2013 by

St. Paul – The Gustavus Adolphus track and field team got its last taste of competition before the MIAC Championships at the Meet of the UnSaintly held on Saturday at Hamline University.

Leading the Gustie women in the field events was Nevada Wendlandt (Jr., Winona, Minn.) and Ally Voss (Sr., Wausau, Wis.).  Wendlandt placed fourth in the high jump after clearing 5-feet one-inch, while Voss went over the bar at 11-feet seven-inches.  Lauren Rothschiller (Sr., Chaska, Minn.) turned in a fifth place finish in the triple jump after a mark of 34-feet 9.75-inches.

Amanda Iverson (Sr., Waconia, Minn.) recorded Gustavus’s top finish on the track with a fifth place performance in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.24.

On the men’s side, Josh Owens (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) cleared 15-feet 9.75-inches to take fourth in the pole vault, and Jesse Scheiterlein (So., Owatonna, Minn.) threw the hammer 145-feet nine-inches to finish fourth.

The Gustavus track and field team will be in action this upcoming weekend at the 2013 MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held at the University of St. Thomas May 10-11.
