Mankato, Minn. – Gustavus Adolphus head cross country and track and field coach Dale Bahr is one of six individuals selected to enter the Minnesota State University, Mankato Athletics Hall of Fame later this fall.
During his athletic career at MSU from 1991-95, Bahr was a four-time All American in track and field, a national champion in the 800-meter in 1992, and a three-time letterwinner in cross country. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education, adapted physical education, and coaching from the Minnesota State in 1995.
Dale Bahr and the rest of the Minnesota State Hall of Fame Class of 2012 will be inducted on Friday, Sept. 28 with the formal induction ceremony taking place at the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner held in the MSU CSU Ballroom.
Dale Bahr will begin his fourth season as head coach of both the men’s and women’s track and field programs and the men’s and women’s cross country programs at Gustavus. In three seasons as the head of the Gustavus track and field team, Bahr has coached two NCAA Outdoor National Champions in Max Hanson (2010, 800m) and Janey Helland (2011, Heptathlon), and eight individuals who have turned in 11 All-American performances in both indoor and outdoor track and field.
