After a wild day at what Matt Higgins of the MIAC billed as the “Campus of Hockey” on Saturday, March 3 in St. Peter, Minn., the dust finally settled at Gustavus Adolphus College and a pair of Gustie hockey teams were crowned 2012 MIAC Playoff Champions.  The Gustavus women’s team defeated Concordia 4-2 to take the title, while the Gustavus men topped St. Olaf 4-2 to earn the Ed Saugestad Cup.  With that, both squads earned the MIAC’s automatic berth into their respective NCAA Division III Ice Hockey Championship.

The Gustie men will know who and where they will be playing later tonight, Sunday, March 4th, while the women skaters will have an opponent and destination tomorrow morning, Monday, March 5.
