Women’s Hockey Looks To Clinch MIAC Title This Weekend Against Saint Mary’s Posted on February 10th, 2012 by

The Gustavus women’s hockey team will take on Saint Mary’s University this Friday and Saturday in a home/away series. Friday’s game in Winona, Minn. begins at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday’s rematch in St. Peter, Minn. starts at 2:00 p.m. The Gusties enter the series as the No. 6 team in the nation according to the latest United States College Hockey Online (USCHO.com) poll with a 16-1-2 overall record and 11-0-1 mark in the MIAC. The Cardinals come in at 6-9-4 overall and 3-6-3 in league play.

Gustavus can clinch its eighth consecutive MIAC title with a sweep this weekend or a win Friday paired with losses by Concordia and St. Thomas. If the Gusties clinch the title, it would also mark their 11th conference championship in the 14-year history of the league.
