Men’s Hockey Looks To Rebound This Weekend Against Augsburg Posted on January 13th, 2011 by

Senior goalminder Josh Swartout enters the weekend with an impressive 6-0-0 career record against Augsburg

The Gustavus men’s hockey team will look to get back in the win column this weekend as it heads back into MIAC play against Augbsburg.  The Gusties will take on the Auggies at 7:05 p.m. in Minneapolis on Friday night and 7:05 p.m. on Saturday night in St. Peter, Minn.  Gustavus enters the game tied for second place in the MIAC with an overall record of 9-5-1 and a MIAC record of 3-2-1.  Augsburg ranks sixth in the MIAC with an overall record of 8-4-1 overall and a MIAC mark of 2-2-0.

Gustavus and Augsburg met in the first at the MIAC Showcase on Oct. 29, 2010 in Blaine.  The Gusties came away with a 2-1 victory despite being outshot 34-24 in the game.  Zach May, playing in his first collegiate game, recorded the game winning goal at the 1:23 mark of the third period.  Josh Swartout got the complete game victory between the pipes, making 33 saves in the contest.
