Cross Country Teams Vie For MIAC Championships on Saturday

The Gustavus men's and women's cross country teams will take part in the MIAC Championships on Saturday afternoon at Como Park Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn. The men's race will begin at 2:15 pm and the women's race will follow at 3:15 pm.

Men’s Hockey Opens Against Augsburg on Friday

The Gustavus men's hockey team opens its 2010-11 season on Friday afternoon against Augsburg College at Fogerty Arena in Blaine at 4 pm. The Gusties, who are taking part in the MIAC Showcase, will wrap up the weekend with a contest against Saint Mary's on Sunday at 2:30 at Fogerty Arena.

Football Welcomes No. 4 St. Thomas For Parent’s Day Duel

The Gustavus football team will play host to St. Thomas Saturday on Hollingsworth Field in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties enter the game with an overall record of 3-4 and a MIAC record of 2-3, while St. Thomas enters atop the conference with an overall record of 8-0 and a MIAC record of 6-0. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.

Women’s Soccer Tops Hamline 3-0

The Gustavus women’s soccer team snapped a four-game losing skid with a 3-0 victory over Hamline on a cold, rainy, and windy Wednesday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. Ashley Anderson, Nicole Kwapick, and Amanda Cartony all scored a goal on the way to Gustavus’s second MIAC victory of the season. With the win, Gustavus improves to 2-8 in the MIAC and 6-11 overall, while Hamline falls to 0-10 in the MIAC and 5-12 overall.

Volleyball Falls To Bethel 3-1

The Gustavus volleyball team dropped a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match to Bethel University 3-1 on Wednesday night in Arden Hills. First year outside hitter Dana Boerboom led the Gusties with 16 kills.

Odean, Frey Spark Men’s Soccer To 2-0 Win At Hamline

The Gustavus men's soccer extended its conference unbeaten streak to seven matches (5-0-2) with a 2-0 win in very difficult conditions at Hamline in St. Paul on Tuesday afternoon.

Sam Frank Finishes Second At ITA Small College Championships

Gustavus women’s tennis player Samantha Frank wrapped up an outstanding fall season with a strong performance at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Small College Championships, which were held in Mobile, Alabama on Oct. 14-17. Frank, who was unseeded in the eight-player singles draw, advanced to the championship match before falling to Kristin Lim of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges 0-6, 3-6.

The Gustavus football team fell to Saint John's by the score of 33-13 on Saturday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. Gustavus falls to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the MIAC, while Saint John’s improves 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the MIAC.
