Men’s Golf Leads After First Day Of The Augsburg Invitational Posted on September 12th, 2010 by

The Gustavus men’s golf team is currently in first place after the opening day of competition at the Augburg Inivitational being held at Majestic Oaks Golf Course in Ham Lake, Minn. on Saturday and Sunday.  The Gusties shot a team score 297 (+9) and hold an eight shot lead over St. Thomas who sits in second with a 305 (+17).  The University of Manitoba is in third place with a 307 (+19), while the second Gustavus team is in fourth after shooting a 310 (+22).  The Augsburg Invitational will conclude on Sunday at Majestic Ocks G.C.

Individually, Gustavus golfers Simon Erlandsson of team two and Tyler McMorrow of team one are currently tied for first place after shooting a 70 (-2).  Alex Pederson is in a six-way tie for fourth place with a 74 (+2), while Alex Kolquist is in 13th with a 76 (+4).  Carleton’s David Flynn rounds out the top three in third place with a 73 (+1).
