Women’s Outdoor Track And Field Set To Compete At MIAC Championships

After finishing runner-up the previous five seasons, the Gustavus women’s outdoor track and field team is set to challenge front-runner St. Thomas for the 2010 MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship on March 14-15 in Winona, Minn.

Men’s Golfer A.J. Olson Named All-America Scholar By GCAA

Gustavus Adolphus College men’s golfer A.J. Olson (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) has been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as a Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar for his play on the links as well as his work in the classroom. Olson ranked third on the team with a 77.2 scoring average during the 2009-10 season while keeping up to par in the classroom with a 3.67 cumulative grade-point average.

Football Wraps Up Spring Drills On Thursday

The Gustavus football team will hold its final spring practice on Thursday, May 13, on Hollingsworth Field before departing campus for the summer. Coach Peter Haugen, in his second season with the Gusties, feels that the hard work demonstrated by both the players and coaches both in the upcoming months, and through spring ball, has built a solid foundation for which the team can build on for the 2010 season.

Women’s Golf Coach Scott Moe Named Division III National Coach of the Year

Gustavus Adolphus College women’s golf coach Scott Moe has been named the Division III National Coach of the Year by the National Golf Coaches Association.

Women’s Golf In Third Place At Halfway Mark of NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women’s golf team is in third place after the second day of the NCAA Division III Championships which are being held at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida (a suburb of Orlando). The Gusties fired a second round team score of 332 for a 36-hole total of 331-332--663.

Five Members of Gustavus Men’s Tennis Team Earn All-Conference Honors

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2010 Men's Tennis Awards recently and five members of the conference champion Gusties were named to the All-Conference Team. That group included Amrik Donkena, Patrick Clark, Tyler Johnson, and Daniel Pomeranc in singles and Donkena and Johnson, and Clark and Kyle Olson in doubles.

Three Gusties Named To Softball All-Tournament Team

The 12-player Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team for the 2010 MIAC Softball Playoffs was announced on Monday following the weekend's competition. Making the team from Gustavus is Betsie Collins, Emily Wendorff, and Lisa Klass.

Women’s Golf Tied For Second Place After First Day of NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team is in a tie for second place after the first day of the NCAA Division III Championships which are being held at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida (a suburb of Orlando). The Gusties fired a first round team score of 331 and are tied with UW-Eau Claire. Defending champion Methodist leads the tournament with a total of 317.

Women’s Tennis Set To Host NCAA Regional This Weekend

The Gustavus women’s tennis team has been selected to host one of eight NCAA Regional Tournaments this Thursday through Saturday, May 13-15, at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex in St. Peter, Minn. Gustavus will be appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the 22nd time, as well as makings its 22nd consecutive appearance.
