Women’s Outdoor Track And Field Finishes Runner-Up At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women’s outdoor track and field team finished runner-up for the sixth consecutive season at the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships held Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 in Winona, Minn. The Gusties scored a total of 68.5 points on Saturday for a two-day total of 132 points to finish behind champion St. Thomas, who scored 115 points on Saturday for a total of 168 points. Saint Benedict barely edged out Concordia (88 points) to take third place with 89 points.

Women’s Tennis Wins NCAA Midwest Region Final 5-0 Over UW-Whitewater

The Gustavus women’s team earned a berth into the NCAA Team Finals with a 5-0 victory over UW-Whitewater in the NCAA Midwest Region Final on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn.

Women’s Golf Posts Strong Final Round, Finishes Second At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team fired a final round 316 and finished second at the NCAA Division III Championships with a total of 331-332-322-316--1301. Methodist College won its 13th consecutive national title finishing 19 strokes ahead of the Gusties with a 72-hole total of 317-333-315-317--1282. Katie Schenfeld was the top individual finisher for Gustavus as she placed fifth with a total of 78-83-78-77--316.

The Gustavus women’s outdoor track and field team is currently in the lead after day one of competition at the 2010 MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 in Winona, Minn. The Gusties scored a total of 63.5 points on the day, as St. Thomas scored 53 points and currently sits in second place. St. Benedict rounds out the top three in third with 33 points.

Men’s Outdoor Track And Field In Seventh After Day One Of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men’s outdoor track and field team is currently in seventh place after day one of competition at the 2010 MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 in Winona, Minn. The Gusties have compiled a total of 20 points, as St. Thomas leads the pack with 57.5 points. Hamline is currently in second place with 52 points, while Concordia sits in third with 35 points.

Women’s Tennis Defeats Luther 5-0, Advances To NCAA Midwest Regional Final

The Gustavus women's tennis team defeated Luther College 5-0 in the second round of the NCAA Midwest Regional, which is being played at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex on the Gustavus campus. The Gusties, who have advanced to the NCAA Region Championship match for the 10th consecutive year, will play the winner of the UW-Whitewater/Wheaton match on Saturday at 12 pm (CST).

Amrik Donkena Selected To Participate in NCAA Singles Championship

Gustavus Adolphus sophomore Amrik Donkena has been selected to play in the singles draw at the 2010 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championships. Donkena will compete against a field of 32 competitors at the i. The singles championships will be hosted by Oberlin College, May 28-30 in Oberlin, Ohio.

Men’s Tennis Falls To Carleton In MIAC Playoff Championship

The Gustavus men's tennis team saw its string of three consecutive MIAC Playoff Championships end with a 6-3 loss to Carleton at the Brown Outdoor Courts at Gustavus on Saturday. The Knights jumped out to a 2-1 lead in doubles and never looked back on their way to the playoff title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Women’s Golf In A Tie For Second Place After Three Rounds At NCAA Championships

First year Annie Jackson fired a sparkling four-over par 77 to help the Gustavus women's golf team jump back into a tie for second place after the third round of the NCAA Division III Championships which are being held at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida (a suburb of Orlando).
