The Gustavus men’s soccer team traveled to St. Paul, Mn on Saturday to play St. Thomas in a critical late season MIAC showdown.  St. Thomas was propelled to victory on Tommie midfielder Angel Riera’s unassisted goal 7:01 into overtime, giving the Tommies the crucial 2-1 victory.

Despite being out-shot 8-6, the Gusties could not find a way to capitalize on corner kicks, having a 10-1 advantage over St. Thomas.  The lone Gustavus goal was scored by forward Mark Adams in the 17th minute.  With the loss, Gustavus moves to 5-6-3 overall and 3-3-1 in the MIAC, while St. Thomas goes to 8-5-1 overall and 4-2-0 in the MIAC.

Gustavus will play host to non-conference opponent Luther on Sunday at 3:00pm on the Gustavus Soccer Field.
