Gustavus Adolphus women’s basketball player Bri Monahan (Hutchinson, Minn.) has been named by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as one of 40 finalists for the NCAA Division III Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team. The 40 finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member Kodak/WBCA All-America Team.

Monahan scored a school-record 495 points in 25 games this season, leading the MIAC in scoring with a 19.8 points per game average. Monahan’s scoring average also ranked her 24th nationally. Monahan also finished fourth in the league in field goal percentage (52.4 percent) and sixth in free throw percentage (78.0 percent).

She registered a trio of 30-point games during the season, marking only the second time a Gustavus women’s basketball player has accomplished that feat.

Joining Monahan in representing Region 8 are MIAC rivals Megan Vig of Carleton and Anna Heikenen of Saint Ben’s, Katie Maguire of Buena Vista University and Lauren Stroot of California Lutheran University.
