Gustavus Adolphus senior Chandra Daw (Duluth, Minn.) rebounded from a 38th place finish in Thursday’s 5K Classic to post a 33rd place finish in Saturday’s 15K Freestyle at the 2006 NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships at Howelson Hill near Colorado Springs, Colorado. Daw traversed the 15K course in 52:39.7. The Gusties finished 24th as a team with nine team points.

Jana Rehemaa of the University of Colorado, Boulder, completed the championship sweep, capturing the 15K Freestyle title in a time of 46:27.4. Rehemaa had captured the 5K Classic title on Thursday. Rehemaa beat Alaska-Fairbanks’ Johanna Turunen to the line by ten seconds.

Affected by the thin air at Mount Werner, Gustavus Adolphus senior Chandra Daw (Duluth, Minn.) skied to a 38th-place finish in the 5K Classic at the NCAA Skiing Championships Thursday. Daw completed the 5K course in a time of 22:29.2.

CU skiers Jana Rehemaa and Maria Grevsgaard captured the top two spots on the podium after posting times of 16:29.6 and 16:36.0, respectively. Lindsey Weier of Northern Michigan (16:54.3) edged Anna-karin Maeki of Denver (16:55.8) at the line for third place.
