In multi-event competition contested Thursday and Friday, junior Jered Hokenson (Watertown, Minn.) captured the title in the heptathlon with 4384 points. With the victory, Hokenson broke the school record of 3356 points set by Jason Meek in 1994. Hokenson won the high jump portion of the competition with a leap of 6-4 1/4 and failed to finish lower than fifth in any of the seven events.

Senior Blythe Bittman (Fairmont, Minn.) finished sixth in the pentathlon with 2809 points, finishing 13 points behind Concordia first year Abby Scheel in fifth. Bittman picked up a runner-up finish in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 9.45 seconds for 696 points and finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:35.46 to pick up 626 points.

First-year Lisa Brown (Lake Crystal, Minn.) finished tenth with 2552 points. Brown won the 800-meter run (2:32.02; 668 points), finished second in the shot put (32-9 1/2; 529 points) and third in the 55-meter high hurdles (10.46 seconds; 497 points), but added a ninth-place finish in the high jump (4-6 1/4; 491 points) and an 11th-place finish in the long jump (13-11 1/2; 367 points).
