Shanna Dawson (First-year, Fairmont, Minn.)
Gustavus Adolphus College first-year Shanna Dawson (Fairmont, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week. Dawson won two events and placed second in another at Gustavus’ Drake Alternative on Saturday, April 30 in St. Peter, Minn. She claimed the long jump title with a distance of 16′ 10″ and the triple jump title with a distance of 36′ 1/4″. The Fairmont native placed second in the pole vault clearing a height of 11′ 3.75″, which met the NCAA qualifying standard.
