Women’s Golf Ties for Second Place at Best Western Riverport Invite Posted on April 10th, 2005 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team opened the 2005 spring season with a tie for second place at the Best Western Riverport Invitational. The Gusties compiled a two-round score of 333-327–660 and tied for second place with host Winona State University. The invite took place at Cedar Valley Golf Club in Winona, Minn. on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10. The University of St. Thomas won the invite with a score of 323-308–631.

Individually, Breanne Staples and Rachel Roberg tied for eighth place overall to lead the Gusties. Staples tallied a two-round score of 82-83–165, while Roberg recorded a two-round score of 79-86–165. St. Thomas’ Katie Glorvigen claimed indivdual medalist honors with a score of 74-78–152.

Gustavus will return to action next weekend by participating in the Carleton Invitational in Northfield, Minn.
