Gustavus sophomore Andrea Peterson has been named Women’s Hockey Player of the Week by the MIAC. Peterson scored five goals and contributed two assists for seven points as the Gusties swept the College of Saint Benedict 6-1 and 11-0.

Gustavus senior Doug Espenson has been named MIAC Basketball Player of the Week. Espenson averaged 23.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game to help the Gusties beat Augsburg (75-62), Macalester (72-60) and Saint John’s (82-73).

The Gustavus women’s basketball team had its season cut short after falling to Saint Mary’s 67-77 on Monday night in the first round of the MIAC playoffs. The Gusties finished their season at 14-10 overall and 12-9 in the conference.
