Gustavus Adolphus College is set to host the fifth annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Division III Indoor Championships at the Swanson Tennis Center. Eight of the top 10 teams in Division III tennis will play off to determine the 2005 ITA National Indoor Champion. Defending champion Emory University will return to defend its title and is the #1 seed heading into the tournament. 2001 UC-Santa Cruz is the #2 seed and two-time champion Gustavus (2002, 2003) is the #5 seed.

Joining Emory (#3 in the current ITA Div. III poll), UC-Santa Cruz (#4) and Gustavus (#7), will be the University of Redlands of Redlands, California (#5), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges of Claremont, California (#6), University of Mary Washington of Fredericksburg, Virginia (#8), Trinity University of San Antonio, Texas (#9) and Washington and Lee University of Lexington, Virginia (#10). Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is making its first-ever appearance in the ITA Indoor Championships.
