The Gustavus women’s track and field team competed in the Macalester Bagpipe Meet on Friday, April 30 in St. Paul, Minn. The Gusties came away with five first-place finishes. Val Berquan (First-year, Kenyon, Minn.) won the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Kim Swanson (Senior, Minnetonka, Minn.) won the 400-meter dash, Kristin Petersen (Senior, Hayfield, Minn.) won the discus throw and Shannon Martin won the pole vault. The team of Ashley Cronen (Sophomore, Kandiyohi, Minn.), Kim Swanson, Maggie Stolp (Senior, Mankato, Minn.), Blythe Bittman (Sophomore, Fairmont, Minn.) finished first in the 4×100-meter relay.
