Men’s Track & Field Competes at the Wartburg Open Posted on March 28th, 2004 by

The Gustavus Adolphus men’s track & field team traveled to Waverly, Iowa to compete in the third annual Wartburg Open on Saturday, March 27. No team scores were kept at the meet.

Josh Sorenson won the pole vault jumping 13′ 7.25″. Matt Fordyce finished in second place jumping 13′ 1.50″. Jack Henkemeyer placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.17. Drew Scanlan placed second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:07.16. Tanner Miest placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.63.

Caleb Bousu recorded a time of 57.73 and placed third in the 400-meter hurdles. Matt Ladwig jumped 6′ 3.25″ in the high jump good enough for second place.

The 4×400-meter relay team of Caleb Bousu, Jack Henkemeyer, Matt Wittman, and Adam Caulfield placed second with a time of 3:25.32. The 4×800-meter relay team placed third with a time of 8:28.11.

The Gusties will be back in action in two weeks. Gustavus will host the Lee Krough Inviational on Friday, April 9th.
