Men’s Track & Field Places Fifth at MIAC Indoor Championships Posted on March 7th, 2004 by

The Gustavus men’s track & field team placed fifth in the MIAC Indoor Championships at McNeely Spectrum on the campus of Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. The men claimed one team title and five Gusties earned all-conference honors.

Sophomore Jack Henkemeyer earned all-conference honors in the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash. Henkemeyer placed third in each event and recorded a NCAA provisional time of 49.76 in the 400-meter dash. He also placed fourth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.56.

First-year Tanner Miest finished in second place in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.91, which earned him all-conference honors.

The team of Anthony Schulzetenberg, Adam Caulfied, Matt Wittman, and Jack Henkemeyer claimed the 4×400-meter relay title with a time of 3:24.89. Henkeymeyer made up 25-meters in the anchor leg to claim the relay title. The men earned all-conference honors by winning the relay.

The team of Anthony Schulzetenberg, Matt Diercks, Matt Wittman, and Adam Caulfied placed third in the 800-meter relay.
