Women’s Golf Wins College City Invitational Posted on September 29th, 2003 by

The women’s golf team claimed its second tournament title this fall by winning the six-team College City Invitational held at Willinger’s Golf Club near Northfield, Minnesota. Gustie golfer Katie Aplin finished second individually.

The Gusties edged MIAC rival St. Thomas for the team title by two strokes. Gustavus fired a 36-hole total of 356-354-710 while St. Thomas carded a score of 359-353-712.

Gustie individual scores included Katie Aplin in second place at 90-81-171, Kelli Groff in seventh place at 86-91-177, Andrea Nelson in 10th place at 94-88-182, Kelsey Getz in 11th place at 90-94-184, Erin Schliep in 13th place at 90-95-185 and Alana Reetz in 17th place at 99-96-195.

The tournament was played in very windy and cold conditions on a very difficult golf course.
