Men’s Golfer Simon Erlandsson Named Third Team PING All-America

The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Thursday the PING All-America teams for Division III following the NCAA Championships. Gustavus sophomore Simon Erlandsson was named to the Third Team after placing 22nd at the national meet.

Men’s Golf Finishes 12th At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men’s golf team concluded its season Friday by shooting a 303 (+15) in the fourth and final round of the NCAA Division III Championships held in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The Gusties shot a four-day total of 301-297-307-303 – 1208 (+56), tying Greensboro for 12th place, their best finish since winning the national title in 2004.

Men’s Golf In 11th At NCAA Championships After Day One

The Gustavus men’s golf team shot a 301 (+13) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships Tuesday in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. and sits in 11th place. Host institution Oglethorpe leads the field of 41 after recording a 285 (-3) at the Mission Inn Resort & Club. Claremont Mudd Scripps and Christopher Newport both shot a 289 (+1) and are tied for second.

Men’s Golf Set To Compete In NCAA Championships Tuesday

The Gustavus men’s golf team is prepared to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships on Tuesday, May 15 through Friday, May 18 held at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. After claiming second place in last October’s MIAC Championships and taking first and second in their last two meets, the Gusties earned an at-large bid into this year’s NCAA Tournament.

Simon Erlandsson Named MIAC Golfer Of The Week

The Gustavus men's golf team has plenty to be proud of after a tremendous performance at the Bobby Krig Invitational, which the Gusties hosted over the weekend. Not only did the host school capture the team title against a great 16-team field, with sophomore Simon Erlandsson (Mjolby, Sweden/ Bildningcentrum Facetten) delivering the individual highlight, finishing second in the 96-player field by shooting a 74 or better in each of the tournament's three rounds. For his performance, Erlandsson has been named the MIAC Men's Golf Athlete-of-the-Week.

Men’s Golf Claims Victory At Bobby Krig Invitational

The Gustavus men’s golf team put together its best performance of the season Monday at the Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn. by winning the Bobby Krig Invitational. The Gusties posted their two lowest 18-hole rounds of the season after shooting a 283 in round two and 289 in the final round for a three-round total of 866 (+18). Saint John’s University took second with a 294-290-287-871 (+23) and the University of Wisconsin-Stout placed third at 301-298-285-884 (+36).
