Men’s Tennis Posts Wins Over Luther, UW-Whitewater; Advances to NCAA Quarterfinals

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships Sunday with a 6-0 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Gusties will face Williams (Mass.) Tuesday, May 15 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in suburban St. Louis, Mo. Washington University in St. Louis is the host institution. Individual competition in singles and doubles will follow team competition at each site May 18-20.

Baseball Sweeps UW-Whitewater 10-9, 4-0 to Open Spring Trip

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team opened its Spring trip to Chandler, Ariz., Thursday evening with a doubleheader sweep over UW-Whitewater. Gustavus took game one 10-9 with a Nate Ruff RBI in the bottom of the seventh and completed the sweep with a rain-shortened 4-0 win in five innings. The Gusties will face Southern Maine in a doubleheader Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. CDT (noon MST).

Men’s Tennis Wins Duals With St. Thomas, UW-Whitewater; Dual With Augustana (S.D.) Postponed

The Gustavus Adolphus men's tennis team picked up a pair of dual wins Saturday, sweeping St. Thomas and UW-Whitewater by 9-0 scores. A dual with Augustana (S.D.) scheduled for Saturday evening has been postponed. No make up date has been announced.

Women’s Soccer Moves to 2-0 With 1-0 Win at UW-Whitewater

The Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer team got their second win in as many days Saturday, scoring in the second minute of the game and holding on for a 1-0 win at UW-Whitewater. Senior forward Amy Larson scored the game's lone goal on a header. First-year Kelsey Deitz made six saves to pick up the win in her first collegiate game. Gustavus will open the home schedule Saturday, Sept. 9 against Grinnell.

Softball Extends Winning Streak With Victories Over MIT and UW-Whitewater

The Gustavus softball team finished off its Spring Break trip in fine fashion Wednesday with wins over the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (7-0) and UW-Whitewater (7-1) at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Cape Coral, Florida. The Gusties, 6-4 overall, have won six in a row and are scheduled to open the MIAC schedule Saturday, April 1 with a doubleheader at Augsburg.

Baseball Posts 8-5 Win Over UW-Whitewater in Arizona

The Gustavus baseball team pushed its overall record to 7-2 Tuesday with an 8-5 win over UW-Whitewater at the RussMatt Greater Phoenix Invitational. Senior Ben Sherer led the Gusties with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate with a pair of doubles and a pair of runs scored. Shea Roehrkasse also chipped in with a pair of hits. Gustavus will face North Carolina Wesleyan in a doubleheader Wednesday.

Men’s Soccer Battles UW-Whitewater to 1-1 Tie

The Gustavus men's soccer team needed a little late-game magic in order to force a 1-1 tie with UW-Whitewater in St. Peter. Junior Alex Groth directed a Jordan Iblings pass past Warhawk goalkeeper E.J. Sesselmann with 3:46 left in regulation for the equalizer. UW-Whitewater had broken the scoreless tie a couple of minutes earlier when Ben Volz put a ball past Gustie keeper Trevor Brown.
