Women’s Tennis Set To Host NCAA Regional This Weekend
The Gustavus women’s tennis team has been selected to host one of eight NCAA Regional Tournaments this Thursday through Saturday, May 13-15, at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex in St. Peter, Minn. Gustavus will be appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the 22nd time, as well as makings its 22nd consecutive appearance.
Women’s Tennis Defeats Wheaton 5-2, Earns 12th Consecutive Trip To NCAA Quarterfinals
The Golden Gusties from Gustavus Adolphus earned their 12th consecutive trip to the NCAA Team Quarterfinal Round after defeating Wheaton College 5-2 on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. The Gusties, who are now 24-8 overall, will compete at the NCAA Team Championships on May 13-15 in St. Peter, as Gustavus is the host institution for the national tournament this year. Wheaton finished its season at 22-4.
Women’s Tennis Defeats Wheaton 5-2 At Midwest Invitational
On a sunny day in Madison, Wis., the 13th-ranked Gustavus women's tennis team defeated 25th-ranked Wheaton (IL) 5-2 in the second round of the Midwest Invitational, as the Gusties earned a first-round bye in the tournament. Gustavus, which is now 13-6 overall, will face sixth-ranked Denison at the Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wis. on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. followed by a match at 2:30 p.m. regardless of the outcome of the morning match.
Women’s Tennis Advances to NCAA Quarterfinals With 5-0 Win Over Wheaton
The Gustavus women's tennis team advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Team Championships May 17-22 in Santa Cruz, California with a 5-0 win over Wheaton (Ill.) Saturday at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex in St. Peter, Minnesota. The Gusties (28-4) swept the three doubles matches and picked up wins from Lauren Hom (No. 3 singles) and Jenni White (No. 6 singles) to close out the match.
Wheaton Advances To NCAA Second Round With 5-3 Win Over Chicago
The Wheaton women's tennis team trailed the University of Chicago 2-1 after doubles play, but stormed back with wins in four of six singles matches to post a 5-3 victory over the Maroons in a NCAA First Round Match at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. Wheaton will face host Gustavus Adolphus in a second round match Saturday, May 6 at noon.
