Softball Doubleheader Suspended At UW-Stout In Third Inning
The softball doubleheader scheduled between Gustavus and UW-Stout was suspended after the third inning due to heavy rain with the Gusties trailing 3-0. A make-up date for the series at Menomonie, Wis. will be rescheduled for a later date and will resume in the fourth inning of the first game. Gustavus' next doubleheader is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8 at 4 p.m. in St. Paul.
Gymnastics Team Falls At UW-Stout, 175.875-169.975
The Gustavus gymnastics team dropped to 3-2 in dual meets on the season falling to UW-Stout 175.875 to 169.975 in Menomonie, Wis. on Friday night. Kelly Mathewson finished third in the All-Around with a score of 35.10.
Men’s Hockey Falls To #6 UW-Stout 3-2
The Gustavus men's hockey team jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead but could not hold off the hard charging UW-Stout Blue Devils who rallied to claim the 3-2 win and improve to 7-0-0 on the season. The Gusties, who got goals from David Martinson and Eric Bigham, fall to 2-2-0 on the season.
Women’s Soccer Improves to 3-1 With a 4-0 Win Over UW-Stout
The Gustavus women's soccer team bounced back from a disappointing 3-1 loss to UW-Stevens Point on Friday, with a convincing 4-0 win at UW-Stout on Saturday night. The Gusties scored three goals in the first half and then added one more in the final 45 minutes to claim the non-conference win. Four different players scored for Gustavus.
Gustavus Sweeps #18 UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout to Start Season
The Gustavus volleyball team started the season right by knocking off #18 UW-Eau Claire 3-0 and UW-Stout 3-0 Friday at the UW-Eau Claire Labor Day Tournament. Sophomore Meghan Gehring (Eau Claire, Wisc.) paced the Gusties with a total of 20 kills in the first day of tournament play. Junior Emily Klein contributed 64 digs in the winning effort, while junior Bridget Burtzel dished out 63 assists. Gustavus opened the day by upsetting #18 UW-Eau Claire 3-0 (30-24, 30-23, 32-30).
