Men’s Basketball Player Trevor Wittwer Named To CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team
Gustavus men's basketball player Trevor Wittwer, a senior from Redwood Falls, Minnesota, has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-America Team. Wittwer, a Health Fitness major with a 3.89 grade point average, was a Third Team selection in the College Division.
Trevor Wittwer, Jess Vadnais Named Finalists for Jostens Division III Men’s and Women’s Basketball Player of the Year Award
Gustavus men's basketball player Trevor Wittwer and women's basketball player Jess Vadnais have both been named finalists for the Josten's Division III Player of the Year Award. The announcement was made by the Salem, Virginia Rotary Club which presents the prestigious awards each year. Ten finalists are selected for both the men and the women and the winner is announced at the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Final Four in Salem, Virginia on Thursday, March 20.
Trevor Wittwer’s Jumper With :07 Left Lifts Men’s Basketball Over Concordia 51-50
Senior captain Trevor Wittwer made a 15-foot turnaround jumper under heavy defensive pressure with :07 left in regulation play to help Gustavus claim an improbable 51-50 win over Concordia on Monday night in St. Peter. The Gusties who trailed 35-25 at halftime, limited the Cobbers to 15 points in the second half. Kane Sivesind and Jesse Van Sickle each scored 10 points to lead Gustavus.
Men’s Basketball Team Rallies From 14 Points Down To Beat Saint John’s 70-68
The Gustavus men's basketball team dug themselves a big hole in the first half, but came all the way and back and claimed a thrilling 70-68 victory in St. Peter on Monday night. Trevor Wittwer made a six-foot jumper with :20 left in regulation play to give the Gusties their first lead since the opening moments of the game. The Johnnies Ryan Lieser led all scorers with 27 points, while Wittwer led the Gusties with 17. Gustavus improves to 15-4 overall and 11-3 in MIAC play.
Men’s Basketball Defeats Carleton 70-65, Wittwer Scores 1000th Career Point
The Gustavus men's basketball team continued its winning ways with a 70-65 win at Carleton on Monday night. Senior wing Trevor Wittwer, who scored his 1,000th career point in the contest, led all scorers with 22 points. The Gusties improved to 12-3 overall and 8-2 in the MIAC.

Gustavus Adolphus College senior wing Trevor Wittwer (Redwood Falls, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 14, 2008. Wittwer averaged 19.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game to help the Gusties compile a 2-1 record last week.
