Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore Trevor Wittwer has been named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performances against Hamline and Concordia last week.

Wittwer (Redwood Falls, Minn./Redwood Valley) scored 36 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help Gustavus pick up wins over Hamline (70-52) and Concordia (78-70). Against Hamline, Wittwer made 6-of-6 field goals, and 5-of-6 free throws for 17 points. He also grabbed 9 rebounds, dished off 3 assists, blocked 2 shots, and recorded 4 steals. Against Concordia, Wittwer made 6-of-7 field goal attempts and 7-of-11 free throws for a career high 19 points. He also added one rebound, 2 assists, 1 block, and 3 steals. He averaged 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 3.5 steals per game during the week.

Wittwer, who has missed only two shots in five games this season (23-of-25), leads Division III in field goal percentage at .920. Gustavus is currently 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC and ranked #13 in the d3hoops.com Division III poll.
